Self Righting The high bow position will stop the occupants from getting wet while in motion but it’s main task is to act as a self righting feature as this is were the flotation for the boat is. The stern has another bouncy tank across the back and is 12”wide and 15” deep. This dose not go all the way to the floor and keeps the buoyancy to the top of the boat. . The gunwales are all buoyancy all acting to right the boat they also are wide enough to walk around then the boat is full of cargo. There is no buoyancy in the bottom of the boat so stopping it from wanting to capsize and all so stopping it from rocking making the boat very stable. If the boat does roll over it is trying to push the buoyancy under the water. Another advantage of this is that as you can see from the photo this is as far as the boat will go in to the water when fully swamped. Fuel compartment This area is in the back of the boat and is separate from the main cargo area stopping contamination of the cargo and fire hazard. Any spilt fuel is jettisoned over board. Total Distraction In the event of a collision or to strike rocks and the boat broke up all peaces will float and act as safety rafts.
